BBQ Braised Beef with Colcannon


Ok so I dont want to be a "Debby Downer" here... BUT

I am SO over cumin. I mean its like in EVERY recipe! Ok maybe that is an exageration but still. It has such a distinct taste and it had no business being in BBQ sauce. I KNEW the second I put it in there, I would regret it. UGH.

Rant over.

Dinner was good.
Not a huge fan of Colcannon... it was weird, and needed a lot of salt.

My kids on the other hand, hated them stringy meat and loved the colcannon. Too funny, huh?

Well all and all it was a good dinner. Not in my top ten. But I may possibly make it again MINUS the cumin. Cough. Gag.

I understand that there are only 20 ingredients allowed. I do! But its the same few spices every week! There are a plethora of spices out there!! And I know some chefs prefer certain spices! Thats awesome and stuff... But its time to broaden horizons. I am going to veer from the recipes if they continue this way.

Dont get me wrong, they are good, real good! But I do change em up slightly to my taste sometimes.
I still love the ease of having it all spelled out for me. I am NOT ungrateful. At all.

Just hoping for some new tastes.
